1.0 out of 5 stars I like it but it broke - Warranty AwfulMay 9, 2015

Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am amending this review to reflect my experience since I bought this tv. I bought this in early May. In June I started having issues with the sound. Whenever I used some sort of device such as a Roku or Apple Tv, sound would go and I would have to unplug the tv and essentially reboot it. Tech Support had me do some sort of reboot with the remote which helped for a while. The problem returned in July and then one day, the tv wouldn't turn on. Tech support quickly realized I needed to have someone come out. Tech support was fine. The problem was the warranty folks. I was kept on hold a long time and was treated rudely when I asked a simple question. I was also told someone would call in 3-5 days (!) to set up an appointment. Through Twitter (I communicated with Sharp through Twitter which worked well) I learned that someone was supposed to come on the 12th of August. No one came. I got a call on the 13th and someone came out. Fortunately, it was a day I was able to work with. That... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars So far a great smart tvApril 4, 2015
So far a great smart tv. This was our first smart tv so we were on a learning curve. Tv portion was easy just plug in your over the air standard
antenna and you get a 1080 screen limited only by what format is being locally broadcast. Great picture from our rooftop hd antenna no drop outs.
just choose your input and it works. Remote control takes a few minutes to learn to cursor around to make selections. Learn where the input exit and return buttons are first. Secondly click in a box as required to enter text and numbers as required and enter.
Our primary purpose was a good hd 1080p tv. The smart function was a extra.

wi-fi setup requires a active router (of course). We use a year old linksys N type. Your internet speed matters but screams along on comcast 60 meg down the pipe .Highest VUDU requirements were met after VUDU online test approval for their best download capability. Im not sure I can afford all that VUDU offers however.

Built in... Read more

Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Let me start with explaining that our family has owned several previous generations of the Sharp Aquos TV before it became available with this smart TV option so we jumped at the chance to test out this upgraded version with all the latest technology.

Let me tell you we were impressed! The Picture is very sharp (no pun intended) and clear, it was easy to set up and has all the features that my daughter paid almost twice as much for with her smart TV purchase just this past Christmas!

The actual dimensions for the 40" (39.5" diagonal) AQUOS LC-40LE653U is 35.5" wide by almost 22" tall but due to the ultra thin bezel it appears to have a larger screen than other 40" TVs when you look at them side by side. It only weighs 25 pounds so I can move it easily all by myself!
